#12 ClipsShop curtain eyelets with a 1 1/2" hole size in a matte nickel satin finish. Additionally, a bag of ClipsShop 40mm satin nickel curtain grommets includes 100 pieces of metal grommets and matching washers.
To put it another way, #12 grommets with a 1 1/2" inside diameter are most commonly used for curtains, drapes, truck covers, tents, tarps, awnings, and other textile applications. Furthermore, 1-1/2" ClipsShop round metal drapery grommets will fit on most curtain rods up to 1 1/4" in diameter.
All of our ClipsShop metal grommets are made from heavy gauge brass. Accordingly, the grommets will not rust. It's important to note that all 8 stock finishes of curtain eyelets, including the matte nickel, are corrosion-resistant and non-rusting. How can you tell if grommets are made from durable, long-lasting brass? Consider that a magnet will stick to a magnetic surface such as steel. As you know, steel will rust! So, if a magnet sticks to your grommets then they are steel and they will rust. Out grommets are made from a high quality brass material that will stand the test of time.
#12 curtain grommets are NOT self-piercing. Because of this, it's best to apply 1 1/2" ID grommets with a ClipsShop two-step cutting & attaching die set. In other words, make the hole with one of our hole cutter cutting dies. Or, use the 2-step dies to cut a hole in one step and set the grommet in a second step without moving the material and without changing the dies! In fact, one of the following manual or pneumatic grommet attaching machines will provide excellent results using the 2-step grommet dies and the 40mm curtain eyelets.

Note: Our ClipsShop brand curtain grommets fit our ClipsShop brand dies. Many customers successfully use ClipsShop curtain grommets certain Micron and Rowley die and grommet setters. Micron and Rowley call 1 1/2" ID grommets a #12 or 40mm grommet or curtain eyelet. If you have an existing Micron #12 die or hand-setting tool then you should order our #12 grommets to fit it. Happy ClipsShop customers also report success setting our 1-1/2" ID metal grommets with their Rowley grommet dies. If you plan on using our grommets with a different brand of machine, we suggest you request samples for testing before making a purchase.
