While this tool places grommets accurately when feeding from right to left and is reasonably easy to use; it CANNOT be used to place grommets when feeding left to right as the instructional video claims. If you are intending to use this tool to place grommets on a garment you will need to use a template still for at least one of the sides. In addition, for garment placement, the smallest distance between grommets of 2.5\" is too large.
For the price of this tool it is reasonable to expect to set the grommets in both directions.
Bottom line: If you are only using this to attach grommets along one edge of say a tarp or sign then this may be useful for you as long as your grommets are within the narrow range of acceptable sizes. If you expect this tool to make your grommet setting job easier with a garment I suggest you stay with your current template system and save the money.
